BookADream vs. MouseDining vs. MouseWatcher: Which Disney Alert Service Is Best?
MouseDining, MouseWatcher and BookADream all do the same basic job: watch Disney’s reservation system and tell you when a spot you want opens. They differ in price, in how they notify you, and in what they cover.
A disclosure first: I’m Jacob, the founder of BookADream, so weigh my opinion accordingly. I’ve tried to keep this comparison to facts you can check. Prices come from each service’s own pricing page as of September 28, 2026, and I’ve listed where BookADream falls short. When we checked, individual MouseWatcher alerts ranged from $5 up to about $14 depending on how far out the target date was.
MouseDining
MouseDining has been around a long time and is one of the best-known Disney dining alert services. You set an alert for a restaurant, date, meal and time.
Where it’s strong:
- The most free alerts of the three: 6, compared with BookADream’s 3 (MouseWatcher has no free plan).
- Text alerts on paid plans, to up to 3 phone numbers, including international numbers.
- A calendar of recent availability for Disney restaurants, useful for seeing patterns.
- An annual plan ($90/year, 100 alerts) for frequent visitors and travel planners.
Things to know:
- Free alerts are email only. Texts require a paid plan.
MouseWatcher
MouseWatcher is the other long-running option, and it’s the only one of the three that requires payment: you either pay once per alert or subscribe.
Where it’s strong:
- Individual alerts from $5 each, which suits one or two alerts, with no recurring billing.
- Text or email alerts.
- Monthly plans (from $19/month) for 5 or more alerts, with easy changes to your alerts.
Things to know:
- No free plan.
- The price of an individual alert goes up the further out your date is. We saw up to about $14.
BookADream
BookADream is the newest of the three. We built it to be modern, mobile-friendly and quick to set up, and you can judge that for yourself on the free plan.
Where it’s strong:
- A trip-length option: $19 once for unlimited alerts for 90 days, which suits a family tracking many meals and experiences for one trip.
- Published data. We share what our monitoring shows. For example, 65% of our Walt Disney World alerts saw at least one matching opening (September 2025 – September 2026), and in our opening data about half of openings appeared within a week of the visit. See our guide to hard-to-book reservations.
- No Disney login needed. It only watches availability.
Where it falls short:
- Email only. No text alerts yet. Email does reach your phone, but if you want an SMS, MouseDining (paid) or MouseWatcher is the better fit.
- The free plan excludes popular venues like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Cinderella’s Royal Table. For those, you’ll need a paid option.
- Walt Disney World and Disneyland only.
