How to Get Hard-to-Book Disney World Reservations (2026 Guide)
Disney World’s most popular tables fill up fast at the 60-day mark, but a full calendar isn’t the end of the story. Plans change, people cancel, and slots come back. This guide covers how Disney’s booking window works, what BookADream’s reservation-monitoring data shows about when sold-out reservations reopen, and how to give yourself the best odds.

When do Disney World dining reservations open?
Disney says guests can book dining up to 60 days in advance, and new booking windows open at about 6:00 AM Eastern each day.
If you have a Disney Resort hotel reservation, you can book dining for your whole stay (up to 10 nights) 60 days before arrival. This is often called the “60+10” rule. Off-site guests book each day as it reaches its own 60-day mark, so a resort guest can reach the later days of a trip first.

Why are some Disney World reservations so hard to get?
A handful of venues combine high demand with limited capacity: dining inside Cinderella Castle, character meals, and small experiences like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Resort guests booking 60+10 compete for the same dates as off-site guests who are booking day by day.
Sold out isn’t permanent, either. Disney notes that when someone cancels a restaurant reservation, that time is immediately made available to another guest. So a full calendar can change at any moment.
Hard doesn’t always mean what you’d expect, though. Our data (below) shows that some famously popular restaurants reopen quickly, while a few smaller ones stay hard to get for weeks.

BookADream monitors Disney’s reservation system for the dates, times and party sizes our users are tracking. Two datasets are summarized here, both Walt Disney World only.
How often do sold-out reservations reopen?
From September 2025 to September 28, 2026, 65% of Walt Disney World alerts saw at least one matching opening. Venues with enough alerts to compare:

What stands out:
- Topolino’s Terrace was the toughest in our data: under half of alerts saw an opening, and those that did waited the longest.
- Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique usually reopens eventually (73%), but often only after weeks of watching. See our BBB reservation guide for its detailed opening data.
- ‘Ohana is popular but, for the dates our users tracked, not especially scarce: 68% of alerts found an opening, half of them the same day they were set.
- Cinderella’s Royal Table reopened for two-thirds of alerts, typically within about a week.
When do openings appear?
Our detailed opening log covers July 7 – September 28, 2026 and is almost entirely Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Treat these patterns as BBB-heavy rather than true for every restaurant.

- About half (51%) appeared within a week of the visit date. A calendar that’s full a month out can still open up.
- Openings came at all hours. Overnight (midnight–6 AM Eastern) was the quietest stretch. The 9 PM Eastern hour stood out, with about 2.3 times the average hour’s openings, and there was a smaller bump at midnight.
Limitations
- We only see openings for what our users asked about: their dates, times and party sizes. We don’t see every cancellation.
- We check frequently, but an opening that’s rebooked within a few minutes can be missed. Repeat openings on the same date are undercounted by our alert rules.
- “Saw an opening” isn’t the same as “booked it”. Users don’t always tell us whether they got the reservation.
- Venues with too few alerts to compare are left out of the table, and some venues in the table have small samples.
What can you do when a reservation is sold out?
- Keep checking, especially in the final week. In our data, half of openings appeared within 7 days of the visit.
- Widen your search. Try other times, other days of your trip and, if it applies, a smaller party.
- Check at different times of day, including around 9 PM Eastern. A single check only shows one moment.
